Featured Anime Of The Day

I am back after a long while!
So, the featured anime of today is one of my all time favorites: Yona of the Dawn (also known as Akatsuki no Yona). Although there is currently only one season of the anime, the manga is well worth reading. But we'll be discussing the anime for now.

Now, before we start I'll just warn you that I am a female so this review is clearly from a female's point of view. From my personal opinion this anime is intended for females but there are plenty of males that watch it. But if this article makes you think the anime is happy-go-lucky and flowery with no action I apologize because that means I have wrongly depicted it. I just don't want to give anything important away.

The main character is a young girl named Yona. She has red hair that she absolutely hates.

She's a very pretty girl; and though at first she may seem spoiled and naive she is one of my absolute favorite female characters out there.
She's sixteen years old and very much so in love with a handsome young man (her cousin) Soo Won.
Soo Won is very kind to Yona, though he seems to treat her like a child.

Aside from Soo-Won, there is her childhood friend and bodyguard, Hak

Hak is known as the Thunder Beast (Raiju) due to his immense strength. He's kindhearted, though he's quite rude (in the best way)

I'll avoid saying much else and just do a short introduction of the characters to avoid spoiling anything.

There's Yoon (or Yun), an intelligent though physically weak boy they meet along the way. Yoon is kind, yet strict and though he's the youngest of the group he's like the mother.

There's Kija, he's kind and strong (though he's scared of bugs).

After Kija comes Shin-Ah (or Sinha) He rarely speaks, but he is a kind soul and very strong. Beneath his mask he has beautiful eyes and is very handsome.

Next up is Jae Ha. The oldest of the group and a very flamboyant person. He likes to refer to himself as the "big brother" to the others.

And last but not least is Zeno. Sadly, he does not come in until the last episode of the anime so if you would like to see more of him you'd have to read the manga. But Zeno is a kind person and is very carefree (though he sometimes shows himself to be a very serious individual)

So that's the gist of it. I highly recommend this anime because not only is the plot amazing, the art is as well. The characters are interesting, and oftentimes the show can be hilarious, while other times it's serious.

So there you have it. If ever you're interested in watching an amazing anime, check out Yona of the Dawn!
